FALL 2008
Thanks to you wonderful people – many people have been served locally. Since Faith Fund’s beginning three years ago, Faith Fund has served over 800 families, and assisted with over 160 Birth Certificates/Identification cards. Your funds have directly assisted these families to get “over the hump,” and thanks to God and wonderful people, we have 69 volunteers serving in a variety of roles. Also, our Bridges of Hope nights have connected hundreds of families to needed resources.
I’d like to highlight one family’s situation.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many, Alan and Sara Karnitz are beginning to live their lives over again. In late September 2007, a husband went to a home where his estranged wife was visiting, burst in, shot her to death in the kitchen and then shot another person in the living room.

Finally the trial is over, and the families are able to move on. In the midst of this tragedy, people quietly gathered supplies, talents and funds to rebuild their house. Over the period of five months, hands and hearts gathered to rebuild not only a location, but to restore faith in humanity. Because of so many, the Karnitz' house has been rebuilt and refurbished. On September 6th, family, friends and volunteers gathered to remember and let go of one incident that affected many lives. Watching three balloons released into the air (to symbolize a trapped spirit being released to Heaven) brought tears and sighs of relief.

Over $8,000 was raised along with hours of donated labor. So many gifts were given, lives shared and souls touched that I am humbled in trying to capture it in a few lines. It is nice to know that someone has a brighter future because of love in the midst of tragedy. Thanks to so many and to God to witness, after tragedy, lives moving on.
